Sprint Customizes Mobile Homepage

Sprint Nextel recently updated its mobile homepage to be customized for end users' preferences, the wireless carrier said today.

When customers go to Sprint's site from mobile devices, it now shows a Google search bar, followed by menu items that will change based on previous browsing history. The change began appearing on phones this weekend.

That technology comes from Dublin, Ireland-based ChangingWorlds, which counts several overseas carriers among its partners. Sprint is its first U.S. partner to use the software.

Currently, the software is available on more than 40 Sprint phones, expanding to all Web-capable Sprint phones in the next few weeks, the company said.
