J.D. Power: Verizon Tops in Business Wireless Customer SatisfactionMay 22, 2008 Verizon Wireless ranks highest among U.S. Tier 1 carriers in customer satisfaction for business customers using wireless voice and data services, J.D. Power and Associates said in its fourth annual Business Wireless Satisfaction Study today. Verizon scored best among both small and medium businesses (SMB) and large businesses, which J.D. Power categorizes as companies with less than 100 employees and 100 or more employees, respectively. Researchers interviewed nearly 2,500 companies about eight factors. The companies ranked those factors in importance - call quality is the most important, they said, while cost and reliability trail other factors such as the quality of employees and customer service. T-Mobile finished second, also for both the SMB and large business categories. The SMB category also included Alltel and AT&T, with Sprint Nextel receiving the lowest rank. For large businesses, AT&T is third and Sprint Nextel trails. J.D. Power also said 41% of businesses subscribe to individual service plans for their employees, while 38% use shared-minute plans. Shared-minute plans are more common in SMB, they said. Meanwhile, 54% of corporate buyers did not solicit employee input, a figure the researchers said is 50% higher than last year. |
