Alltel Location-Based Service Goes Nation-wide

Alltel said its customers can now use location-based services (LBS) nationwide, versus just in the customer's home area in the past. The operator also indicated those services are now available in 45 major markets.

Location-based services from the Little Rock, Ark., carrier include GPS navigation, Yellow Pages, family finder and business programs such as Timecard.

Although expanded nationwide, customers will still pay any roaming charges.
