Sprint Launches Cell Phone Coverage and Signal Strength ToolOct 11, 2006 Sprint Nextel has launched a new tool that will enable customers to determine their cell phone's signal strength in a particular location. The Power Network Coverage Tool gives customers access coverage maps, which can zoom down to the street address level. The tool is designed to show signal strength for a very specific location. Through the use of a zip code, customers can receive coverage information for both the Nextel National Network and the Nationwide Sprint PCS Network. The Power Network Coverage Tool can be accessed online or at kiosks in Sprint retail stores. The carrier already is working on enhancements to the tool, which will include the ability to view future cell site locations within 60 days of planned buildout. Once the carrier's EV-DO Revision A network is rolled, customers will be privy to Rev. A coverage locations as well. Sprint says the overall goal of the new product is to increase customer satisfaction. |
