Alltel Adds Motorola KRZROct 2, 2006 The latest ultra-thin Motorola offering, the KRZR K1m, has arrived at another U.S. carrier. Alltel has signed on to offer the device to its customer base, making it the second U.S. wireless carrier to introduce the handset. The KRZR, which is a follow on to Motorola's widely popular RAZR, features a 1.3-megapixel camera, video capture and playback and Brew 3.1 technology, as well as support for Bluetooth and Alltel's Axcess Broadband network. The KRZR K1m is 17 mm thin, 44 mm wide and is made of magnesium, hardened glass and polished chrome. Motorola announced its plans for the KRZR as well as another ultra-thin offering, the RIZR, in July. The handset is currently available online from Alltel. The carrier will introduce the KRZR at retail outlets on Oct. 5. Verizon Wireless, which was the first U.S. carrier to offer the device, also said it would initially introduce the handset online, followed by a brick-and-mortar release. According to Alltel's online Web store, the carrier is offering the KRZR for $249.99, after a $150 instant online rebate. |
