T-Mobile Launches myFaves Favorites Unlimited Calling Plan

Oct 2, 2006

T-Mobile USA customers now have the ability to chat it up with their five favorite people without having to worry about depleting their airtime minutes. The myFaves service is carrier agnostic.

myFaves extends unlimited calling features to up to five people from one phone, regardless of which network the friend or family member belongs. The service also works with landline phone numbers. myFaves also offers 1-touch access to a user's five favorite people. Acknowledging that a person's close-knit circle may change from time to time, T-Mobile will allow customers to change their Fave 5 once each month without penalty.

"People want to be freed from worrying about minutes and which carrier their friends use," said T-Mobile USA CMO Mike Butler in a prepared statement. "They just want the freedom, without boundaries, to effortlessly call those they care about."

The new service works with a host of handsets offered by T-Mobile, including the BlackBerry Pearl, Samsung Trace (SGH-t519) and t629, Nokia 6103 and MOTORAZR V3. T-Mobile expects almost all of its new handsets will support the myFaves feature by the close of 2006.

The myFaves service is similar to Alltel's My Circle offering, which gives customers the ability to designate and call up to 10 numbers as much as they want for free. The plan supports both wireless and wireline numbers, regardless of carrier network. Alltel offers the My Circle feature to customers who sign up for a service plan that is $59.95 or more per month. T-Mobile's myFaves is available on plans starting at $39.99 a month.
