Verizon To Offer Windows Live Services To Broadband SubscribersAug 29, 2006 Verizon Communications Inc. on Tuesday said it will offer to broadband subscribers a co-branded suite of Windows Live services from Microsoft. The agreement, an expansion of the existing partnership between the two companies, will cover customers of Verizon's DSL and FiOS Internet services. The Windows Live products will be accessible through a co-branded Live.com homepage, and will include a browser toolbar, email, instant messaging and security tools. Verizon, which has partnered with Microsoft since 2002, is working with the software maker to develop additional Internet services to be made available on the Windows Live platform, officials said. Verizon plans to continue offering its customers Microsoft's MSN Premium services, rolling out the new Windows Live products early next year. |
