T-Mobile UK Launches Mobile Gaming Service

Aug 17, 2006

T-Mobile UK is looking to entice its t-zones customers to jump into more game play by launching a play for prizes category. The new offering is being made possible through a partnership with Sennari Entertainment, a developer of mobile entertainment and loyalty applications.

The new PrizePlay service gives t-zones game players the chance to accumulate "Bling" that can be traded in for actual prizes. Prize selections include digital downloads, electronic goods and retail gift certificates.

Sennari's PrizePlay gaming service for the t-zones service encompasses a suite of games such as Monopoly, Snakes and Ladders, Triple Towers (Solitaire), Mahjong, Star Trek, Poker Battle and Goldenballs (Pachinko).

In an effort to get more mobile subscribers to take the new PrizePlay option for a spin, T-Mobile is offering the chance to win a free iPod Nano just for playing a PrizePlay game. Drawings for the iPod will be held daily through Oct. 2, according to T-Mobile.

Last year, Sennari inked a deal with Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products to create PrizePlay with prize-based games built off of the Star Trek franchise. Games were developed for both mobile and Web play.
