Cellphone NewsVerizon Wireless Inks V CAST Deal with CBSDec 7, 2005 Verizon Wireless is looking to do some outwitting, outlasting and outplaying of its own in the mobile multimedia sector, landing a deal with CBS to bring network-based content, including "Survivor," to V CAST-enabled handsets. The deal involves developing wireless-created content based on various CBS shows, including "Survivor," "CSI," "Late Show with David Letterman," "The Amazing Race," "The King of Queens," "Entertainment Tonight" and CBS news. The content will only be available via Verizon's V CAST multimedia service. The deal marks CBS' first foray into the wireless world of content. In November, Verizon announced a deal with ABC to bring "Lost Video Diaries" to V CAST as an offshoot of the network's popular series "Lost." The deal involves the creation of at least 22 two-minute mobisodes made exclusively for V CAST. |
