Cellphone NewsHandango Supports Series 60 HandsetsNov. 3, 2005 Handango is extending the reach of its InHand product line by adding support for Series 60 handsets. The company worked with Nokia to develop this latest version of InHand. The mobile downloads provider says its newest Handango InHand offers premium SMS purchasing, updated synchronization and peer-to-peer distribution. The application, according to the company, is designed to make it easier for Series 60 handset owners to find, download and purchase Symbian OS-based mobile content. Handango InHand for Series 60 is available free of charge via Handango's Website. In September, Handango unveiled its Symbian Signed Certification program for mobile applications developers. Testing runs $200 for Handango Software Partner Program members and provides a way for Symbian to deliver third-party applications to developers that have been verified. Other iterations of the InHand application support smartphones and handhelds operating on BlackBerry, Palm OS, Symbian OS, and Windows Mobile for Smartphone or Pocket PC. Sprint, BenQ, Sierra Wireless, Sony Ericsson and Paragon Software Group are among the companies that have licensed Handango InHand. |
