Cellphone NewsRSS Goes MobileOctober 18, 2005 Now you can carry your favorite blogs with you. iAnywhere's AvantGo mobile Internet service announced the beta release of Really Simple Syndication (RSS) support. RSS is a technology used to send updated content from blogs and other Internet sources to computing devices read by subscribers. AvantGo's support means the RSS feeds can be downloaded through AvantGo's sync-and-go channels. Jon Asmussen, an AvantGo product manager, says the addition of RSS content vastly increases the content available on the free service. Users don't need any new software, but they do need to have a device running Palm OS 5.0, Windows Mobile Pocket PC, Symbian OS UIQ or Symbian OS v6.1 Series 60. |
